Saturday, October 27th, 2012: Chandler Davis and Connecticut have come to an agreement keeping the starting pitcher in a Nutmeggers uniform for another 5 years.
The deal is worth $42,550,000 and a formal press conference has been scheduled for tomorrow.
For the year Davis has compiled a 10-10 record with a 4.25 ERA. |

Thursday, October 25th, 2012: Looks like the West Virginia Coal Sox will have to do without starting pitcher Michael Ayers, who is suffering from bronchitis. He needs rest and medication and should be back at full strength in 4 days.
Ayers has posted a 8-10 record for the year with a 5.18 ERA. Teams are hitting .274 against him and he has rung up 91 strikeouts in 140.2 innings. |

Wednesday, October 24th, 2012: The Manchester Maulers will have to make do without the services of reliever Nelson Ortíz for a while. He was injured throwing a pitch today in a game against Tempe and suffered hamstring soreness. Nevertheless, team officials say the injury isn't too serious and we should see Ortíz 100% healthy within 2 days.
This season Ortíz has nailed down 1 save with 63 strikeouts in 65 innings. He is credited with 4 wins and 1 loss and has a 0.97 earned run average. |
