It's a No-No for Castillo
Thursday, August 18th , 2039
The Waimalu Nene relied on no-hit stuff from starter Cristián Castillo to defeat the Kobayashi Fireflies 1-0 at Blacksnakes Ballpark today.
"It's quite a thrill," Castillo told the media afterward. "This is a top-notch league. A no-hitter against any team in the league is something special. I can't believe I did it."
To get his name logged in the Hawaiian League records, he stopped Kobayashi cold and hitless, surrendering 4 walks and fanning 15 of the 35 batters he faced.
Waimalu manager Carlos Rivera was in a jovial mode after the game, kidding with reporters that Castillo "made managing easy today."
"I didn't have hardly any decisions to make like I usually do," he said. "I didn't even have to come up with a pinch hitter."
This season Castillo has compiled a 8-2 record with a 1.86 ERA.
