He was one of the most dangerous men in the league when he had a bat in his hand, and the Western Conference announced today that he has won the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2011.

The 15-year-old center fielder put up a .421 average and a .465 on-base percentage, piling up 88 hits, 17 doubles, 4 triples, 19 home runs, 75 RBIs and 53 runs scored. |  | Best Pitcher Honor Goes to Rodríguez of Wilson Classical HS Tuesday, June 14th, 2011: 16-year-old Eduardo Rodríguez of the Wilson Classical HS Bruins put together a good year in 2011 for such a young player. Rodríguez was named today as the winner of the Western Conference Outstanding Pitcher Award.
Rodríguez crafted an impressive 10-1 record and a 4.78 ERA. In 81 innings he allowed 98 hits, struck out 75, and walked 18. | | | | |
