Surge Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire

The Bellevue West HS Surge and Rocky Mountain HS Grizzlies didn't hold back anything in the Round 1, with each team pulling out all the stops in an effort to advance to the Round 2.
Bellevue West HS won the final game by a score of 3-2 at Meridian Park and that concluded the series, 4-3.
"Relief is the biggest thing," Bellevue West HS right fielder Wilbert Foster said when asked how he felt. "It's a grind both mentally and physically to have a long series like this, but our guys stuck with it and Rocky Mountain HS deserves credit for the hard fight."
Foster paced the Bellevue West HS offence and earned MVP honors. For the series, he hit .269 with a .296 on-base percentage, 0 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Bellevue West HS Surge will play against the Castle HS Lords in the next round. Castle HS won their series against the Jesuit HS Corsairs 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.

De La Salle HS Wins Round 1

The De La Salle HS Myrmidon "proved we can handle pressure" by beating the Round 1 and eliminating the Horizon HS Huskies, according to series MVP Álex García.
"This is the big stage, we're off to the Round 2 and looking towards the Round 4," he said. "There's a lot of pressure at this time of year and it's only going to get more intense from here. But I think we can handle it just fine."
De La Salle HS won the final game 4-2, to wrap up the series 4-2.
García led his team to the series win by putting up a .545 average, with a .615 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The De La Salle HS Myrmidon will play against the Chatsworth HS Chancellors in the next round. Chatsworth HS won their series against the Billings West HS Lookouts 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
