Yi Batters Racine for 5 Hits Wednesday, June 1st , 2039 Joo-seok Yi exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Laker Stadium. The Niigata catcher had a field day in the 11-2 triumph over the Racine Lakers, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Yi must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Joo-seok Yi singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and doubled in the 8th. On the year Yi is hitting .211 with 8 hits, no home runs, 2 RBIs, .250 OBP and has scored 3 runs. View Boxscore |
