BREAKING NEWS  | Martínez Slams 3 Homers for Rafters

Today was a special one for Júlio Martínez of the Grand Rapids Rafters as he slammed three home runs in the 12-6 win over the Thornton FasTrax.
"Lately, I been uppercutting the ball too much. I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark," he said to sportswriters after the game. "No big long outs for me in this game... I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot three times. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em."
The Grand Rapids first baseman had quite a game at Grand Rapids Grounds as he collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 3 runs.
Júlio Martínez struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Hyeon-cheong Yong in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Younger in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Mike Lovell in the 8th.
In the 2018 season Martínez is hitting .211 with no home runs. |
