The rain did not keep Aberdeen and Akron from finishing their game.

The Aberdeen Golden Sands topped the Akron Ambers by a score of 12-3. Leading the way was first baseman Tai hoi Hsiao. Hsiao went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5 for the Golden Sands. Francisco Gómez got the win, improving to 2-4. He held the Ambers to 3 runs on 3 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 10 and walking 3.

The Golden Sands got an important contribution from shortstop Ken Henderson, who in the bottom of the first punched a 2-2 fastball into right for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Golden Sands ahead, 7-0.

"We had that killer instinct," Hsiao said after the game.
