Gandapur hits 3 home runs, Leads Electric to Win
|
Eindhoven first baseman Azhar Gandapur helped his team beat the Aberdeen Golden Sands, 5-1. Gandapur, who is tied for 3rd in the AML in home runs with 17, went 3 for 4 for the Electric. Ramón Martínez was the winner. Over 8.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. The Golden Sands, now 26-56, have lost 4 straight.
With Eindhoven leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Gandapur came up to bat against Aberdeen pitcher Henry Spencer. Gandapur hit a fastball to right-center for a solo home run. His 17th home run of the season put the Electric on top, 2-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Eindhoven manager Eugene Anderson. "It's usually not just one thing."
