Oysters Down Braggarts, 3-1
|
Starting pitcher Naofumi Yamaguchi was a major factor in the 3-1 Chesapeake Bay Oysters triumph over the Fayetteville Braggarts. Naohiro Seki picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Juan Pérez was tagged with the loss. The win moves Chesapeake Bay to a record of 9-6.
Chesapeake Bay won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Juan Pérez on the mound for Fayetteville, left fielder José Rodríguez hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Oysters fans to their feet.
"On the outside I was calm," said Oysters manager John Mayer. "But inside I was a nervous wreck."
