Clifton Takes Title
The Clifton Dons ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Provo Missionaries 3-2 to win the Ambassador's Cup.

Clifton won the series 4-3, capturing the title for the 1st time.

"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Clifton manager Ken Hooper. "It's a great feeling."

The champs finished the regular season 79-61 and claimed third place in the Appalachian Mountain League East.

In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and left fielder Gary Powell said the Dons have "great fans and they deserve this."

"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
