The Clifton Dons silenced the Chesapeake Bay Oysters today to move within one game of the Divisional. The Dons shut out the Oysters by a final score of 3-0 at Clifton Stadium. Clifton right-hander José López had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Dons a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Wild Card.

López allowed no runs on 2 hits over 7 innings for the Dons. He walked 2 and struck out 7.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Clifton Dons (probably) 2039 Ambassador's Cup Champions'," López told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Clifton Stadium in Jersey City.
