The Kauai Monsters got a strong performance from pitcher Kevin Miller, who stymied the Kobayashi offense en route to a win, 9-2, at Blacksnakes Ballpark. Miller got the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Miller allowed 2 runs. Kauai is now 70-33, 15½ games up in the Hawaiian League Archipelago.

Kauai used the timely hitting of Mike Davis to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Monsters ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"I liked his command," said Kauai manager Hugh Watson. "Kevin was throwing strikes."
