Cy-Fair HS Moves on to Round 2
|
The joy and relief on the faces of the Cy-Fair HS Bobcats players was obvious as they celebrated their Round 1 win over the DeSoto Central HS Panthers.
"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Cy-Fair HS right fielder Bill Reid, shortly after the 8-0 win that clinched the series 4-3. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."
The team is now off to the Round 2.
Reid won series MVP honors on the strength of his .250 batting average during the series. He also had a .276 on-base percentage and 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Cy-Fair HS Bobcats will play against the East Rutherford HS Cavaliers in the next round. East Rutherford HS won their series against the Annapolis HS Jaguars 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
