Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Lodi HS Devils take on the Sprague HS Torchbearers.

Lodi HS Devils starter Howard Allen was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Sprague HS Torchbearers, 9-2. The winner in relief was Jorge Vélez. He is now 1-3. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings.

Allen contributed in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Lodi HS get the win.

"I made some pitches when I had to," said Allen.
