The Kauai Monsters topped the Hilo Hoops, 6-2, in Hawaiian League action at Brewers Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kauai pitcher Kevin Miller. The first-place Monsters improved to 63-30.

Kauai won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Yi-da Xú on the mound for Hilo, third baseman Daniel Genara hit a dramatic grand slam home run, bringing Monsters fans to their feet.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Genara.
