Lok hits 2 home runs, Monsters Move to 61-30
|
Liang-hsi Lok helped his team muscle past the Maui Mahi-Mahi, 7-4. In the game, the Kauai right fielder belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Chee-hwa Shao, the winner, goes to 8-2. He allowed 4 runs on 4 hits, with 6 walks and 5 strikeouts over 5.2 innings. Getting the save was Sawao Matsuda, his 6th.
With Kauai leading 4-3 in the top of the fifth, Lok hit a slider from Sumitomo Kawai for a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Monsters ahead, 7-3.
In postgame comments to the Kauai Observer, Lok said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Monsters go to 61-30, putting them first in the Hawaiian League Archipelago.
