Ewa Beach second baseman Carlos Martínez contributed to his team's 6-4 win over the Kobayashi Fireflies. Martínez went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Imperialists. Troy Thomas finished the game for Ewa Beach and earned his 5th save. The first-place Imperialists have won 9 consecutive games.
Juan Sandoval, who is tied for 3rd in the HL in stolen bases with 16, came through for Ewa Beach with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. The center fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 runs batted in.
Martínez told a Ewa Beach Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
