Kilauea Roughed Up By Swamp Dragons
|
Behind a fine performance from Yoshisada Shimizu, the Osakasayama Swamp Dragons knocked off the Kilauea Volcanoes, 8-2. Shimizu hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Swamp Dragons. The winner was Masayuki Tashima, who threw 84 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits. The first-place Swamp Dragons have a one-game lead in their division.
Osakasayama took a 5-2 lead on Shimizu's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Pablo López in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Osakasayama to the win.
Shimizu told a Osakasayama Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
