Salinas Plays Big Role in Niigata Win
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Niigata Gigans defeated the Namuko Puckmen, 7-1, in Rocky Mountain League action at Puckmen Ballpark. Niigata pitcher Jorge Salinas had a standout performance. Kisho Kamuta earned the save for Niigata, his 12th of the year.
Salinas, the Niigata left-hander, went 7.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. He collected 14 strikeouts.
"Jorge made his pitches," said Niigata manager Shigeaki Shiroi.
With the win, the Gigans improved to 45-46.
