Sailors Take Down Cavaliers, 2-1
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Sarasota HS fans at Sailors Ballpark.

Sarasota HS Sailors starter Duane Erickson turned in an exceptional performance against the East Rutherford HS Cavaliers at Sailors Ballpark, resulting in a Sarasota HS win, 2-1. Martin Tucker picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Héctor Ríos was tagged with the loss.

Sarasota HS took a 2-1 lead on Elias Vail's 6th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Vail hit in the bottom of the eighth, left East Rutherford HS pitcher Héctor Ríos visibly frustrated.

"I have a really good team behind me," Erickson said. "I trust them 100 percent."

The 'W' lifts Sarasota HS's record to 19-16.
