The East Rutherford HS Cavaliers stopped the Bishop Moore HS Hornets, 4-1, at Ballpark of Bishop Moore HS. The Cavaliers got a big game from Gregg Nolan, who went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2. East Rutherford HS reliever Ron Martínez got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Luis Sánchez was tagged with the loss. Héctor Ríos closed the door for East Rutherford HS, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Bill Medina, the 17-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Medina contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put East Rutherford HS up, 3-1.
In postgame comments, Nolan told the East Rutherford HS Bulletin: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
At 15-13, the Cavaliers claim third place in the Eastern League Atlantic Conference.
