Traders Knock Off Eagles at Metros Ballpark
The Kenai Traders faced a tough opponent in Akutan Island pitcher Norberto Soto, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Metros Ballpark by a final score of 3-2. Soto went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Hyun-il Ong snagged the win in relief. In 1.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 4-4 on the season. Jim Flores notched his 5th save in 7 chances.

Had it not been for Francisco Cruz, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Traders were trailing 2-1, Cruz hit a 2-run single for Kenai, giving his team the lead.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Cruz said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The Traders now have a mark of 57-44.
