Taku Winds starter Hidemichi Okazaki was in fine form against the Anchorage Mighty Moose at Citizens Ballpark, leading his team to a win, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Okazaki, now 4-7. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Fernando González closed the door for Taku, picking up his 9th save of the year.
Zhi-xin Gui, the 20-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gui contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Taku up, 2-0.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Winds manager Joe Buchanan. "This one was nice to get."
Taku is now 29-63.
