Conditions were not ideal but Taku and Kivalina were able to put their game in the books.

Taku starter Man-su Hwang pitched well against the Kivalina Bowheads at Sullivan Brothers Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. Taku pitcher António García got the win, upping his record to 5-3. Bob McDermott got the loss. Fernando González closed it out for his 8th save.

Late in the game, third baseman Narihari Kato had a big at-bat for Taku. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Bob McDermott. The play gave the Winds a 5-4 lead.

"We did enough to win," said Hwang.

The Winds improved to 27-52.
