The Whitehorse Explorers topped the Sitka Capitals, 12-3, in Alaskan League action at Whitehorse Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Whitehorse pitcher and Conroe, Texas, native Bernardo Peña. The save went to Seung-yeop Yu, number 3 for him. Whitehorse is now 38-32, while Sitka is 25-45.

The Explorers got a big hit from shortstop Eduardo Franco. In the bottom of the seventh, Franco pounded a bases-clearing double to right. His 11th double of the season put the Explorers ahead, 12-2.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Franco. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
