Russell Powers Tigers to 7-1 Win
In the 7-1 Katy HS win over South Caldwell HS, the impact of William Russell was substantial. Russell, who is tied for 4th in the EL with a 1.031 OPS, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Avery Polk recorded the save, his 1st. Katy HS is now 11-12, while South Caldwell HS is 13-10.

With Katy HS leading 2-0 in the top of the fourth, Russell came up to bat against South Caldwell HS pitcher Jody Harris. Russell hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Tigers on top, 5-0.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Russell told the Katy HS Chronicle.
