Ramos, Explorers Beat Prospectors, 10-4
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Getting offensive support from Valentín Ramos, the Whitehorse Explorers topped the Skagway Prospectors, 10-4. Ramos went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Explorers. Aidan MacClacher got the win, improving to 3-7. He held the Prospectors to 4 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 4. Paul Hollett picked up the save, his 4th.
Ramos contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Whitehorse in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 3-1, Ramos took a cutter from Randy Hynes and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Explorers to leap in front, 4-3.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Ramos told the Whitehorse Herald.
Whitehorse, at 33-30, holds down second place in the Alaskan League Fisher.
