The home crowd had a good time watching the East Rutherford HS Cavaliers and Blanchard HS Ligers get after it.

The Blanchard HS Ligers topped the East Rutherford HS Cavaliers, 5-1, at Ligers Ballpark. Blanchard HS second baseman Joe Blair banged out 1 single and 2 doubles, while driving in 2 runs. Sam De Jesús, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings.

Blanchard HS took a 2-1 lead on John Polk's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off East Rutherford HS pitcher Fernando Hernández in the bottom of the seventh.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Blair said in reaction to the win.

With the win, the Ligers improved to 8-14.
