Eagles Snatch Late Win
The Akutan Island Eagles withstood an impressive performance by Kenai center fielder Millard Martin to defeat the Traders, 8-7, at Enfield Grounds. Martin was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. The 4th-place Eagles improved to 26-28.

In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 7-7, first baseman Sam Rolston won it for Akutan Island. With the bases loaded, Rolston hit a 1-1 curveball from Mario Luna for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 8-7 win.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Rolston told the Akutan Island Citizen.
