Román Joins 3-HR Club Sunday, September 7th , 2042 Kenai Traders right fielder Jorge Román sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Wasilla Sledge Dogs, Román told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Román pushed the Traders past the Sledge Dogs, 7-2. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Román told reporters after the game. Jorge Román hit a solo-shot off Samuel Johnston in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Samuel Johnston in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Samuel Johnston in the 6th and singled in the 7th. This year, Román is hitting .238 with 80 hits, 24 home runs, 56 RBIs and has scored 44 runs. |
