Puente Slams 3 Deep for Taku Monday, September 1st , 2042 Taku second baseman Mario Puente blasted three homers at Sullivan Brothers Stadium in the 7-3 Winds victory over the Wasilla Sledge Dogs. For the game, Mario Puente scored 4 times and knocked in 4 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Puente when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 4-for-4, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Puente told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Mario Puente hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Juan Maldonado in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Juan Maldonado in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Javier Tovar in the 7th. So far this season, Puente is hitting .265 with 23 home runs. |
