Vulcans Spank Volcanoes, 11-0 Sunday, August 31st , 2042 The Mauna Loa Vulcans shut out the Kilauea Volcanoes, 11-0, behind the strong pitching of Shao-qi Bu. Bu surrendered only 2 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 7. Following the last out, Bu appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Kilauea manager Chris Simpson, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Bu's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart. The Volcanoes skipper would not comment on the exchange but, at the Vulcans press conference, Bu confirmed that it was regarding the celebration. "He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Bu said. "And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Mauna Loa manager Juan Flores added. Currently Bu has a 6-4 won-lost record in 11 starts with a 2.90 ERA. He also has 68 strikeouts in 93 innings. View Boxscore |
