Hat Trick of Home Runs for Nelligan
Saturday, August 16th , 2042
Osakasayama Swamp Dragons right fielder Walt Nelligan had a magnificent game against the Waimalu Nene, rocketing three balls out of Swamp Dragons Ballpark to help the Swamp Dragons win, 6-5.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Nelligan went 4-for-6 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Osakasayama manager Shingen Okamoto said later. "Seems like Walt found his home run stroke today."
Walt Nelligan hit a two-run home run off Bob Cooper in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Micheal McShane in the 9th, flied out in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off Lawrence Hayes in the 13th.
Nelligan is hitting at a .286 mark this season. His stats show 13 home runs, 34 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has played 60 games for the Swamp Dragons.
