Waikiki Blanks Hilo Behind Burke
Sunday, August 3rd , 2042
Kian Burke of the Waikiki Coconuts spun his magic on the Hilo Hoops. He blanked them, 6-0, on 5 hits, registering 3 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Burke said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Waikiki skipper Taisuke Endo said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Kian pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
To this point in the season, Burke has rung up no saves in no relief appearances. He has also crafted a 4.41 ERA, 3 wins and 7 losses and 72 strikeouts in 87.2 innings.
