Sawada Rips 3 HR Saturday, August 2nd , 2042 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Goro Sawada did at The Sanctuary, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 13-4. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Sawada said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Kivalina Bowheads second baseman blistered the Whitehorse Explorers for 3 hits, batted in 6 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Whitehorse manager Larry Martin said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Goro Sawada grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Cristián Pérez in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Kyoji Kondo in the 6th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Kevin Kirby in the 7th. Sawada has collected 37 hits for the Bowheads this year, 16 of them home runs. He has also netted 36 RBIs and scored 24 runs while batting .261. |
