Hoops Takahashi Gets No-Hitter Saturday, July 12th , 2042 Sadao Takahashi relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold Mauna Loa hitless in a win, 4-0, at Hilo Ballpark. "Nobody goes out to pitch a no-hitter," he said later. "We just go out and try to get a win. A 10-9 win is better than a 1-0 loss. My pitching buddies might not be too happy giving up nine runs but a win is a win. The key to it today was I mixed my pitches well. I kept the Vulcans off balance and guessing the whole game." The 21-year-old starter rung up 4 strikeouts and 7 walks in whipping the Vulcans. "When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," Mauna Loa skipper Juan Flores said.
