Wild Card Goes the Distance, Mexicali Prevails

The joy and relief on the faces of the Mexicali Shmoes players was obvious as they celebrated their Wild Card win over the Marduk Nerv.
"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Mexicali second baseman Tokaji Suzuki, shortly after the 6-1 win that clinched the series 3-2. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."
The team is now off to the Divisional.
Suzuki won series MVP honors on the strength of his .333 batting average during the series. He also had a .455 on-base percentage and 0 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Divisional matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card finishes.
