Reyes Muzzles Kingston Bats
Saturday, July 5th , 2042
Manuel Reyes of the Birmingham Bears spun his magic on the Kingston Suns. He blanked them, 11-0, on 5 hits, registering 2 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Reyes said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Birmingham skipper Charles Jeffries said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Manuel pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
Checking out his stats for the season, Reyes has racked up 6 wins and 5 losses in 16 starts, posted a 3.79 ERA, and struck out 48 batters in 99.2 innings.
