Oysters Win Tight Appalachian Mountain League East Race
Monday, September 1st , 2042
Harry Sexton called it "one of the best parts of being a pro ballplayer."
The Chesapeake Bay Oysters second baseman was referring to winning a division title, as his club has just captured the Appalachian Mountain League East crown.
"There's not many better feelings than winning a tight pennant race," he said. "We worked hard for it all year, have our record at 80-60 right now and feel we're in good shape for the postseason."
It was the 16th time the Oysters have won the division. It may be a high for Sexton and his teammates, but there is certainly one better feeling he's now hoping for.
"Winning the Ambassador's Cup," he said. "Nothing would top that."
