Relief Star Wins RML Top Pitcher Honors Monday, September 1st , 2042 When Víctor Peña strolls in from the bullpen, he is a good bet to nail down the victory for the Glendale Skyelanders. That's the way it was last month as he performed his job in an almost flawless fashion. Today he was honored as August's Pitcher of the Month by the Rocky Mountain League. The Glendale pitcher compiled a 4-1 record, no saves, 36 strikeouts and a 1.38 ERA in 45.2 innings over no relief appearances. This year, Peña has earned no saves, worked 102 innings, fanned 86 hitters and recorded a 3.88 ERA. He has also put up a 5-8 won-lost mark. |
