Romero Grabs AML Top Pitcher Trophy Friday, August 1st , 2042 Tony Romero really strutted his stuff in July with 5 wins and 1 loss and walked off with the Pitcher of the Month Award in the Appalachian Mountain League . The Jefferson County starter was good news for his club, but bad news for the opposition. In 42 innings of work, Romero limited opposing batters to 27 base hits and a .180 batting average. He totaled 39 strikeouts, issued 12 walks and had a 1.29 ERA. On the season, Romero has compiled a 13-7 mark with a 2.19 ERA in 23 starts. In pitching 168.1 innings he has 133 strikeouts and 49 walks while limiting the opposition to a .197 batting average. |
