Takeuchi on a Rampage, Hits for Cycle Thursday, July 24th , 2042 The San Antonio Calzones of Laredo topped the Manchester Maulers by a score of 4-1 at Whiten Field, but all the talk was centered on second baseman Hisashi Takeuchi. The San Antonio star hit for the cycle in a show-stealing performance, powering his club to the win. Takeuchi went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to go along with 3 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. "I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Takeuchi said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me - the ball seemed that big. And it just floated in." Hisashi Takeuchi singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Bartolo Muñóz in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
