Takeuchi on a Rampage, Hits for Cycle
The San Antonio Calzones of Laredo topped the Manchester Maulers by a score of 4-1 at Whiten Field, but all the talk was centered on second baseman Hisashi Takeuchi.

The San Antonio star hit for the cycle in a show-stealing performance, powering his club to the win. Takeuchi went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to go along with 3 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.

"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Takeuchi said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me - the ball seemed that big. And it just floated in."

Hisashi Takeuchi singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Bartolo Muñóz in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.

In his season totals Takeuchi has 16 home runs and a .284 batting average.
