Claymores Win at Home, 4-3
|
The Scottish Claymores scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Hartford Harpoon at The Castle. Scottish pitcher Naoaki Morita held his own in the contest. The winning pitcher was Morita, now 6-3. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Isei Yano locked down his 16th save.
Scottish took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Lorenzo Castanieda hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Claymores.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Morita said.
The win gives Scottish a season record of 38-22.
