Claymores Peel Off 4-2 Win
|
The Scottish Claymores topped the Gloucester Fishermen by a score of 4-2. Leading the way was third baseman Júlio Luna. Luna was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Claymores. The Claymores sit in first place in the Imperial League Trans Atlantic with a record of 82-54.
Luna contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Scottish in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Luna took a sinker from Lorenzo Santiago and stroked the double to right-center. His 22nd double of the season allowed the Claymores to leap in front, 3-2.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Scottish skipper Germán Hernández. "I can't complain."
