Cruz Smacks 3 Homers in 5-4 Prospectors Win
The Skagway Prospectors topped the Whitehorse Explorers by a score of 5-4. Leading the way was second baseman Jeffrey Cruz. Cruz hit 3 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring three times for the Prospectors. Luis Macías snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Alfonso Santiago suffered the loss. The win gives Skagway a record of 4-4.

Cruz had a timely hit for Skagway in the top of the eighth. With Skagway trailing 4-3, he turned a 3-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 5-4, Skagway.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Cruz.
