Traders Take Down Eagles, 4-3
|
The Kenai Traders reigned over the Akutan Island Eagles in damp conditions.
The Kenai Traders did just enough to sneak past the Akutan Island Eagles, 4-3, at Enfield Grounds. Kenai pitcher Logan Larsen, in particular, had a standout performance. Jorge Arroyo closed the game out for Kenai, earning his 1st save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ryan Anthony? The 22-year old third baseman Anthony stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Kenai up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I was a little disappointed," said Akutan Island manager Tomás Mata. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Traders raised their record to 3-0.
