Scottish pitcher Masanobu Agano had a large part in his team beating the Gloucester Fishermen, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Agano got the win, improving to 7-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Claymores saw their win-loss record go to 75-50. At the same time, the Fishermen fell to 57-68.

Scottish relied on the bat of John MacVurich to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the second inning to put the Claymores ahead, 2-0. For the game, MacVurich had 1 double and 1 triple in 3 at-bats.

"It feels good to get this one," MacVurich told the Scottish Observer.
