Mexicali starter Min-bum Ch'oe pitched well against the Takaoka Shiko at Shmoes Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. The win went to John Wilson in relief. His record improves to 7-1. Tokutomi Okumura took the loss. With the win, Mexicali goes to 38-25, while the Shiko fall to 36-26.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Mexicali center fielder Kevin Rogers, facing Tokutomi Okumura, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Shmoes the 5-4 win.

"Min-bum never lets off the gas," said Mexicali manager Hidehira Ine. "Good, bad, or ugly, he never gives in."
