Millman Excels in 9-7 Mexicali Win
The Mexicali Shmoes defeated the Gakidou Onryou, 9-7, at Gakidou Fields. Lewis Millman was one of the standouts for Mexicali. His 4 hits included 3 singles and 1 triple -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 3 he knocked in. Bartolo Flores picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Kinnosuke Saito was tagged with the loss. By defeating Gakidou, the third-place Shmoes improved to 36-25.

Mexicali won the game in part because of Jorge Díaz. The right fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Shmoes ahead, 7-6. For the game, Díaz had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Millman told the Mexicali Bulletin.
