Another game, another loss for the struggling Nagano Olympians.
The Takaoka Shiko defeated the Nagano Olympians, 4-2, in Baja Cali League action at Nagano Olympic Stadium. Takaoka pitcher Bob Smith had a standout performance. Tokutomi Okumura earned the save for Takaoka, his 13th of the year.
Takaoka used the hitting of Jorge Hernández to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Shiko on top, 3-2. For the game, Hernández had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's going to click," said Nagano manager Sozen Tamura. "It's just a matter of when."
The win for the Shiko lifted their record to 30-23.
